We provide youth ministries that foster growth and mentorship, and we have a variety of opportunities for young hearts to thrive. Explore our adult ministries that include Bible studies, small groups, and service initiatives, designed to deepen your relationship with God and cultivate authentic community.

Our Purpose is to continuously develop devoted followers of Jesus Christ.
Matthew 16:13-18; Matthew 10:32-39; Matthew 22:36-40; John 14:23-26.

Our Mission is to go share the Gospel, baptize, mentor and educate believers everywhere, trusting in God’s power.
Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:7-8; Ephesians 3:8-11.

Our Vision is we will be a regional church for the north Hill County and south Johnson County communities; where the older teach the younger, where broken and hurting people find help and healing, where manhood and womanhood meet the biblical standard, becoming the focal point of Christian influence that transforms our community through the gospel and the surrounding region for the kingdom of God.
Titus 2:1-8; Matthew 11:28-30; Genesis 1:26-31; Matthew 19:4-6.

A Simple, Measurable Process For Effective Church Ministry for FBC Covington

Our Church is organized under three concepts that reflect and keep us accountable to the Great Commission. They are:

Planting – (Reaching out) – Evangelism efforts = speaking the message of the gospel

Cultivating – (Reaching in) – Education efforts = discipleship of believers

Harvesting – (Reaching again) – Empowerment efforts = connecting people to the work

Exodus 24:4; Deuteronomy 4:1-2; 17:19; Joshua 8:34; Psalms 19:7-10; 119:11,89,105,140; Isaiah 34:16; 40:8; Jeremiah 15:16; 36:1-32; Matthew 5:17-18; 22:29; Luke 21:33; 24:44-46; John 5:39; 16:13-15; 17:17; Acts 2:16ff.; 17:11; Romans 15:4; 16:25-26; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; Hebrews 1:1-2; 4:12; 1 Peter 1:25; 2 Peter 1:19-21

Our service times are Sundays @ 11:00am and we are located at 10549 State Highway 171, Covington, TX 76637

We adhere to traditional Baptist beliefs, including the authority of the Bible, salvation through faith in Jesus Christ, believer's baptism by immersion, and the priesthood of all believers.

We’ve been blessed with a really nice building and a beautiful place to worship. Even with such a nice place to gather, we’re still “regular joes.” We put our pants on one leg at a time (unless we’re in a hurry).

We do not have a dress code. We do ask that dress be modest and appropriate for the weather. As for tattoos and piercings, bring them. We promise not to remove them.

Guests don't have to stand up and say anything. We will ask you to fill out a Welcome card and drop it in the offering plate so we can have a record of your visit. We do have a greeting time during the service, and it is very likely you will receive a firm handshake and a few hugs.

We have a nursery provided during all services for children 3 years of age and under.

You are not expected to participate in the offering, but you are certainly welcome to join with us financially in accomplishing God's call on us to love, give, and live like Christ.

If there’s something we missed on this list, just give us a call, or ask someone when you arrive. Whether you’re new to the area and looking for a church home, or if it’s been a long time since you’ve attended church at all, we hope you will enjoy worshiping with us. We are looking forward to meeting you in person.

We welcome anyone interested in becoming a member of our church family. Membership involves attending a membership class and meeting with one of our pastors.

To sign up to serve at church, fill out our serve form or contact our church office. We have various opportunities for you to use your talents and serve our church family and community.

about jesus

We live in a broken world, surrounded by broken lives,

broken relationships, and broken systems. This brokenness is seen in suffering, violence, poverty, pain, and death around us. Brokenness leads us to search for a way to make LIFE work.

In contrast to this brokenness, we also see beauty,

purpose and evidence of design around us. The Bible tells us that God originally planned a world that worked perfectly — where everything and everyone fit together in harmony. God made each of us with a purpose — to worship Him and walk with Him.

The Bible says:

Genesis 1:31

Psalm 19:1

Life doesn’t work when we ignore God and His

original design for our lives. We selfishly insist on doing things our own way. The Bible calls this sin. We all sin and distort the original design.

The consequence of our sin is separation from

God — in this life and for all of eternity.

The Bible says:

Romans 3:23

Romans 6:23

Sin leads to a place of brokenness. We see this all

around us and in our own lives as well. When we realize LIFE is not working, we begin to look for a way out. We tend to go in many directions trying different things to figure it out on our own. Brokenness leads to a place of realizing a need for something greater.

The Bible says:

Romans 1:25

Proverbs 14:12

At this point we need a remedy — some good

news. Because of His love, God did not leave us in our

brokenness. Jesus, God in human flesh, came to us

and lived perfectly according to God’s Design.

Jesus came to rescue us — to do for us what we

could not do for ourselves. He took our sin and

shame to the cross, paying the penalty of our sin

by His death. Jesus was then raised from the dead

— to provide the only way for us to be rescued

and restored to a relationship with God.

The Bible says:

John 3:16

Colossians 2:14

1 Corinthians 15:3-4

Simply hearing this Good News is not enough.

We must admit our sinful brokenness and stop

trusting in ourselves. We don’t have the power to

escape this brokenness on our own. We need to

be rescued.

We must ask God to forgive us — turning from sin

to trust only in Jesus. This is what it means to

repent and believe.

Believing, we receive new life through Jesus and

God turns our lives in a new direction.

The Bible says:

Mark 1:15

Ephesians 2:8-9

Romans 10:9

When God restores our relationship to Him, we

begin to discover meaning and purpose in a

broken world. Now we can pursue God’s Design in

all areas of our lives.

Even when we fail, we understand God’s pathway

to be restored – this same Good News of Jesus.

God’s Spirit empowers us to recover His Design

and assures us of His presence in this life and for

all of eternity.

The Bible says:

Philippians 2:13

Ephesians 2:10

Now that you have heard this Good News, God

wants you to respond to Him. You can talk to Him

using words like these:

My life is broken — I recognize it’s because of my sin.

I need You.

I believe Christ came to live, die and was raised from

the dead — to rescue me from my sin.

Forgive me. I turn from my selfish ways and put my

trust in You.

I know that Jesus is Lord of all, and I will follow Him.

The Bible says:

Romans 10:9

Romans 10:13

As we begin our new journey, the Bible teaches us how to pursue God. He has a design for healthy relationships.

Prayer - God wants you to talk to Him about everything that matters to you.

Church - The local church is God's family to help you walk with Him.

Bible - The Bible reveals God's design - showing how to pursue Him.

Share - Now that you have experienced this Good News, tell others.

The Bible says:

John 20:31

Matthew 6:33

Colossians 2:6
